From 1st April 2020, the Government of India had introduced new emission norms for vehicles. These norms, known as BS6, were created to reduce the amount of air pollution levels and follow international standards like the Euro 6 for Sustainable Automobile technology.
To adhere to these norms, we’ve created a BS6 line-up of our Ace Gold trucks. Apart from the engine, we’ve also introduced a host of other improvements so that our mini trucks continue the legacy of being the Customers’ No. 1 choice*.
Tata Ace Gold BS6 is available in Diesel, Petrol and CNG variants.
The new Ace trucks have been designed to offer the Promise of 6 (in addition to the BS4’s features) i.e. Higher Mileage, Higher Pick-Up, Higher Payload Capacity, Higher Comfort & Convenience, Low Maintenance Costs and Higher Profits. Here are the major differences between the Tata Ace BS4 and BS6 Mini Trucks:
Emission Norms
The BS6 engine is able to reduce Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions by 76%, Hydrocarbon (HC) emissions by 32% and Particular Matter (PM) emissions by 82% when compared to the BS4 engine. The current emission measurements** are 0.06, 0.17 and 0.0045 respectively.
Pickup
The BS6 variants of Tata Ace Gold comes with higher power and pick up. Ace Gold Diesel comes with a power of 20hp and 45Nm torque; Petrol comes with a power of 30hp and 55 Nm torque and CNG comes with a power of 26hp and 50Nm torque.
Mileage
The BS6 range of Ace variants offer better mileage compared to its BS4 variants for the same load and lead.
Payload
Tata Ace BS6 comes with a Reinforced Frame Chassis and stiffened suspension, which have bettered the load carrying capability. This has increased the GVW from 1,550 kg to 1,675 kg (for the Diesel variant) and 1,615 kg (for the Petrol variant). Both BS6 variants come with a higher payload capacity of 750 kg. The payload of the CNG variant is 640Kg with a GVW of 1630 Kg.
Maintenance
The BS6 truck’s Engine Oil and Engine Oil Filter, both have to be changed after 10,000 km or 8 months (whichever is earlier) which is double that of the BS4 trucks by 4 months. The Fuel Filter Element has to be changed after every 40,000 km for a BS6 truck and 10,000 km for a BS4 truck. The DEF Fluid (for the Diesel variant) has to be changed every 10,000 km. This does not exist in the BS4 Engine. The Petrol variant is available only as a BS6 variant.
Convenience
The Tata Ace BS6 trucks come with a new Cable Type Gear Shifting, Improved Braking System (new Callipers and Drum Brakes complemented with LCRV and Brake Booster) and better placed ABC pedals for a convenient drive.
With all these improvements, we make sure that upgrading to BS6 is the right choice.
*The Tata Ace Mini Trucks have been rated as the No. 1 choice since 2005 with 8/ 10 customers rating a high-level of confidence in the trucks.
**The emissions are measured in grams per kilometre.
